Departments
Anderson Township is governed by an elected three member board of township trustees and an elected fiscal officer, whose terms are four years in length.
Under the oversight of the township trustees and the fiscal officer, the administration is run by the township administrator who oversees the day-to-day operations of township government.
Anderson is divided into seven departments: administration and trustees, fire and rescue, fiscal office, legal counsel, planning and zoning, public works and sheriff’s office. The Township contracts for legal counsel and sheriff’s services.
Based on policies and priorities set by the Anderson Township Board of Trustees, the administrator and two assistant administrators (one for operations, one for human resources) handle day-to-day oversight and performance monitoring of service delivery, recommendations regarding policy, planning and coordination of budgets, state and federal regulation compliance, grants and citizen requests, among other items.
