Neighborhood WatchThe Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Neighborhood Watch Program is based upon crime prevention and community policing. Crime prevention means that residents develop an alliance to resolve issues related to crime. Community policing promotes a strong partnership with the Sheriff’s Office and creates strategies to address crime and social concerns.

Neighborhood watch establishes a formal network for residents to communicate with each other and the Sheriff’s Office. Simply translated, neighborhood watch asks you to be the “EYES AND EARS” of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

By casually observing your neighborhood and being aware of out-of-place situations, residents can report suspicious activities to 911 for crimes in progress, (such as vehicle tampering, thefts, property damage or burglaries in progress) or 825-2280 for non-emergency reporting, (such as observing suspicious subjects or vehicles in neighborhoods, suspicious items, unsafe conditions, reports or contact with a Sheriff’s Deputy).

**Members can remain anonymous when reporting activity**

And it is important to realize that criminals find it difficult to operate in an area where citizens take an active role in preventing crime.

Neighborhood watch signThe security of our communities and its citizens depends upon the people themselves. The Sheriff’s Office needs the support and cooperation of the people it serves. Every citizen should be a neighborhood watch member…..a concerned public spirited person who watches their neighborhood and reports criminal activity to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Enforcement Division, District # 5 (Anderson Township) utilizes the neighborhood watch program under the Anderson Township Community Outreach Network. Members of this network are comprised of:

  • Neighborhood Watch
  • Township Residents
  • Business Watch
  • Business Owners & Management
  • Real Estate Watch
  • Sheriff’s Citizens' Patrol

Members are linked through an e-mail contact system and social media platforms to be kept up to date on current law enforcement information, bulletins, wanted posters, etc. in Anderson Township and Hamilton County.

For more information, contact Deputy Brian D. Hayes (Crime Prevention Officer) at bhayes@andersontownship.org or (513) 688-8400, Ext. 1191.
