The Village of Newtown has announced that Church Street (Newtown Road) between Main Street (SR 32) and Ragland Road will be CLOSED to through traffic between Monday, June 29, and Friday, July 3. From Saturday, July 4, through Sunday, July 19, the roadway will be open for all traffic. However, one lane closure will be in place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with traffic maintained and delays. Construction has begun on a project to add left-turn lanes on Clough Pike to Newtown Road and to the Alcove of Turpin Hills apartments. Anderson Township has begun its 2026 curb and sidewalk repair program.  The first step, saw cutting of curbs is underway or will soon begin on select streets.  The process will take two to three weeks.
