Fiscal Office
The Anderson Township Fiscal Office is led by elected Fiscal Officer Brian Johnson, supported by a dedicated two-person staff. Mr. Johnson was appointed in August 2023 and officially elected to his first term in November 2023. As Fiscal Officer, he is entrusted to oversee and safeguard Township funds. Payroll, pension reporting, and all accounts payable functions are handled in the fiscal office. The main source of revenue for Anderson Township is property taxes. Currently Anderson Township receives approximately 19 cents of each dollar paid. This money funds:
- police and fire protection,
- road maintenance and snow removal,
- public works, planning/zoning and special events,
- capital improvements,
- all other township operating functions.
One source of township revenue comes through the TIF (Tax Increment Financing) program. The Anderson Township TIF program allows the township to collect taxes on parcels that were considered ripe for development. Anderson receives funds for capital improvements on all the taxes collected on the increases in value of those properties.
By agreement with the Forest Hills Local School District and the Cincinnati Public Schools districts, the township passes along to them that portion of taxes they would have received if there was no TIF in place.
