2022 FH5K: Event is Back In Person

May 14, 2022, 8:30 AM - May 14, 2022, 11:30 AM
Students’ mental health resources a focus for the run’s fundraising efforts.

After two years of hosting the FH5K virtually, the Forest Hills Foundation for Education hosts the 2022 FH5K on Saturday, May 14, as an in-person event. Proceeds from the run provide additional resources and support for all district students. “It’s time for us all to come together and promote physical health and create awareness for mental health,” said Stacy Gillard, foundation executive director. “We are proud to work collaboratively with local businesses, community leaders and parents that are investing in the success of our youth,” she said. This year’s theme is “Take a Step to Stop the Stigma” and all money raised will support wellness initiatives for the students of Forest Hills. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and mental health support and resources will be featured at the FH5K After-Party at Nagel Middle School. The Forest Hills Foundation serves as a member of the Anderson Mental Health Collaborative. With more than $390,000 raised and in excess of 15,000 race participants in the FH5K in the past 12 years, this year’s goal is $100,000. Funds raised will support three areas based on feedback directly from students: resiliency, managing emotional responses and social awareness. Register for the FH5K at fhfe.org.
