Coyotes and You

Coyotes are being sighted around the township, including on some of Anderson’s wooded walking trails.

These adaptable animals generally are shy and not aggressive toward humans. They hunt for wild animals and small mammals, which can include small dogs and cats.  The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife, recommends keeping your small pets close by and on the leash during dawn/dusk to avoid problems.

Also, deter coyotes from visiting your yard by bringing in pet food and keeping your garbage can tightly sealed.
