Flood Warning in Effect – “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”
With the heavy rainfall amounts and strong storms yesterday and overnight, Anderson Township remains under a flood warning until 12:45pm. As strong to severe storms have moved through the Township the past several hours, emergency personnel from the Anderson Township Fire & Rescue Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office continue to respond to reports of downed power lines and wind damage.
The National Weather Service’s Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for our area as well until 4pm today. Please keep an eye on the weather and be prepared in the event of flash flooding, especially in areas not typically known for high water. As always, if motorists encounter a water covered roadway, “Turn Around, Don’t Drown!” In addition, with higher winds predicted for later today and saturated ground, please be on the lookout for uprooted trees and falling debris.
