ACTV Renewal Supports Next Year of Community Access Television

Anderson Center’s local television station, ACTV (Anderson Community Television) is fully funded for another year, starting June 1.

The station airs government and school district meetings, high school sports, religious programming and other shows of local interest including township events and entertainment.

Anderson Township continues to utilize ACTV for the filming of trustee and zoning meetings, a monthly “Trustee Talk” series, and coverage of special events such as the Anderson Independence Day Parade and Holiday Tree Lighting. Additionally, 19 episodes of The Addiction Series, are available for viewing, covering a variety of topics and testimonies connected to the region’s heroin and opiate problem.

Local independent producers still have the option of producing programs for broadcast. Topics covered in the past year include, “The Chef, You and I,” “Born Before 64,” “Friday Night Lights” and UC Clermont Basketball.

The easiest way to access ACTV shows, if you are not a Time Warner Cable subscriber, is to go online to ac-tv.org and check out the video archives section. If you are a Time Warner Cable subscriber, go to Channels 8, 15 or 18 for local programs.

“I’m hopeful our township viewership appreciates the value of Anderson Community Television and the effort that goes into each program,” said Township Trustee Andrew Pappas.
