Anderson’s Independence Day Parade Lines Up for Hot Summer Fun

Anderson Township’s annual Independence Day Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, featuring plenty of music, dancers, bagpipers, businesses and community organizations.

The Beechmont corridor becomes an entertainment venue once a year, during the walk from the Anderson Township Operations Center (the Beechmont Fire Station) down to Anderson Towne Center. As the road is closed off at 9:30 a.m., spectators can put up tents and comfortable chairs to find the best spot for viewing Anderson’s 13th annual July 4th parade.

This year’s theme is “Hometown Pride.” The parade honors winners of the Annual Awards event sponsored by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce who will serve as grand marshals of the parade. Prizes are awarded for the best parade entrants including Best Neighborhood or Organization Best Float, Best Patriotic Display, Best Business Entry and Most Spirited.

Festivities at Anderson Towne Center wrap up the celebration, with a vintage car cruise- in, kiddie games, community entertainment. food and music by Robin Lacy & DeZydeco. The Towne Center festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
