Jack-O-Lanterns Light Up Night Sky During Annual Event
Hillsides around Anderson Lake takes on a festive glow for Anderson’s ninth annual Jack-O-Lantern Walk, scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.
Children stroll in costumes through rows of carved, lit pumpkins in a spooky trail around Anderson Lake, or enjoy activities indoors at Anderson Center. Free refreshments, a carved pumpkin contest and entertainment from students with Anderson High School’s theater department complete the free evening of fun.
Enter the Jack-O-Lantern Walk pumpkin carving contest to compete for first or second prizes. Drop off carved entries from 2-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, or from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the lower atrium of Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Road. Pumpkin pickup is the next day, Sunday, Oct. 29, at the same location from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Entrants, please note: Only carved pumpkins are accepted (not decorated ones). Other restrictions apply; check out details on the entry form that can be downloaded on AndersonTownship.org. The township is not responsible for damage to pumpkins.
