Mental Wellness Speaker Series

Statistics show that one of four older adults suffers from serious emotional difficulties related to aging. This common condition is the first topic in a new speaker series coming to Anderson Township. 

A message on senior behavior health is planned for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Road. The speaker is Dr. Stephen Wilkes, medical director of Geriatrics, Mercy Health. 

A new Anderson Township Committee collaborating on mental health issues is organizing the speaker series as part of its efforts this year. Representatives from Anderson Township, Mercy Health, Beech Acres, the Forest Hills School District, the Anderson Park District, the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, the Forest Hills Foundation and the Lindner Center for HOPE are participating in the committee. Their goal is to create a supportive environment around mental wellness in the community.
