Annual Garden Tour May 19

Anderson’s annual Garden Tour is moving to an earlier date and adding historic township locations on the route this year. Now called the Anderson Garden and History Tour, the free self-guided event will include homes with beautiful spring blooms, as well as open houses at several noted township historic sites.

Seven garden sites had been volunteered as of press time, with more possibilities to come. The historic site part of the tour will include opportunities to tour the Miller-Leuser Log House, the James Clark Stone House, the Anderson Township Heritage Center and Highwood Lodge at Withrow Nature Center.

“We realized our previous date, the first week of June, seemed to eliminate many of the area’s beautiful flowering spring plants, so this year we moved up the event to catch gardens in bloom during this abundant time of year,” said Sarah Donovan, planner.

The Garden and History Tour is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. Click here  to view the Brochure.  They are also available to be picked up at the Anderson Center.

Have a garden you would like to share with the public? Call Sarah Donovan at 688-8400 ext. 1181 to discuss. The Garden and History Tour is run by the new volunteer WeTHRIVE! Anderson

Committee.
