Keep Cool During Extreme Heat

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued an Excessive Heat Warning through Saturday evening. Heat index values will be near or above 105. The heat will the highest on Friday afternoon into the evening and Saturday afternoon into the evening.

With the weather expected to reach these dangerously hot temperatures this weekend, be prepared. If you are in need of a place to keep cool, consider visiting a restaurant, shopping mall, community center or a local library.

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is welcoming those who want to cool down. Find information about library locations and hours of operation by visiting: https://www.cincinnatilibrary.org/info/hours.asp.

Stay safe this weekend by drinking plenty of water and limiting outdoor activity. If you must be outside, take frequent breaks out of the sun or in the air conditioning, and wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing. Be sure to check on older adults who may not have access to air conditioning and always remember to never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
