Trick or Treat Time for Anderson Township - Thursday, Oct. 31st 6-8pm

Trick or treat time for Anderson Township is this Thursday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.  Unfortunately, the forecast looks to be turning windy and cold, but let’s hope Mother Nature gives our area an early evening break in the rain for some Halloween Fun!

There are many factors that go into such a decision on whether to move the day for trick or treating, so it’s one that is not taken lightly.  Any community-wide change from the annual October 31st celebration of Halloween (and trick or treating) has many impacts since it affects nearly 18,000 households. To our knowledge, such a change has only occurred once in recent history in Anderson Township.  This was in 2013, in response to National Weather Service forecasts for severe weather, including strong storms, possible tornados, and high winds.  At that time, Anderson, and nearly every community in our region, elected to move the day for trick or treating to Nov. 1.

This being said, as we suggest each year, neighborhoods or community groups can certainly choose to set or change their own day/time for trick or treating.

It's also a great time to remember some key health and safety tips, from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, which can be found HERE.

Happy Halloween!
