Volunteers Sought by Hamilton County for Potential Public Health Medicine/Vaccination Situation
In the event of a large scale public health emergency where medicine or a vaccination is being provided to the public, Hamilton County
Public Health has a system in place to facilitate this process. In these instances, a group of volunteers is convened to assist township staff and public health officials in the dispensing process.
Anderson Township currently is assisting the county in recruiting medical and non-medical volunteers who would respond to a local Point of Dispensing (POD) activation. Volunteers would be needed to perform a wide variety of tasks necessary at the POD.
Volunteers are asked to sign up on the TRMC website: https://www.hamiltoncountyhealth.org/emergency-preparedness/volunteer/mrc-resources/,
Volunteers do not need a medical background to take part, however, volunteers with a medical background are welcome for specific duties.
