Holiday Tree Lighting - 2020 Style

Anderson’s traditional holiday tree lighting at Anderson Towne Center continues this year, but with a few changes that are oh so 2020! The tree lighting is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5 and will be a shortened COVID-compliant experience.  Attendees are asked to wear a mask and keep at least 6’ social distance.

Entertainment by the Turpin High School Orchestra starts at 5:30 p.m. in front of AMC Theaters. The Kindercare preschool singers ushers in Miss Claus at 5:50 p.m. as she arrives on a fire truck.  (Miss Claus is standing in for Santa who is taking more time on his rounds now with social distancing, and she is not in his “bubble”!) The tree will be lit at 6 p.m.

Stop by the center to take a photo in front of the holiday tree and drop off a gift for the Huff Realty toy drive. Santa is still accepting letters (and emails) through the Macy’s Santa mail program.

Support your local businesses at the Anderson Towne Center into the holiday season and remember to Shop Local to keep Anderson Township strong!
