Recycling Drop Off Center Users - We Urgently Need Your Help
Recycling bins at the 24/7 Recycling Center on Beechmont Avenue have often been at capacity over the past year. To help enable Anderson Township to continue to offer this free service, please help by:
• Bringing only recyclable items to the center. Contaminants often lead to materials being rejected from the recycling process. Use your residential trash service for non-recyclable materials including electronics, tires, furniture, Styrofoam or other debris.
• Breaking down carboard boxes to create more space for fellow recyclers to use the bins.
• Placing recyclable items in bins without the use of plastic bags. If you bring your items to the center in a plastic bag, please place them loose inside the Rumpke bins and recycle your plastic bag where accepted or dispose of it with your trash service.
• Holding those recyclables for your next trip if the bins are full. Items left next to the bins will not be picked up by Rumpke and ultimately may restrict Rumpke from servicing the full container.
The free recycling service is provided as a courtesy to those who live in apartments, condos and do not have curbside recycling.
Bins are typically emptied Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, which is the maximum frequency available. The township has added an extra-large bin at the center to help with overflow during peak times of the year.
Users are urged to stop by Monday through Thursday, when the bins have more capacity. If you use Rumpke for trash service, please note there is an “Anderson Township rate” that includes free curbside recycling (small bin or larger tote). Contact Rumpke for details.
The center is made possible by your tax dollars. Following these steps will help reduce those expenses, enable the center to continue operating, and reduce debris blowing into nearby properties.
