Bartels Road Emergency Closure – June 23-24

Bartels Road will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, with a planned reopening at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 24.

This closure will allow Anderson Township to replace a failing stormwater pipe under the roadway, between the main driveway to Turpin High School and Mercer Elementary School, and the loading dock driveway to Turpin High School.

During the closure period, Bartels Road will be open for local traffic to and from Clough Pike. Access will be provided to Turpin and Mercer, as well as Anderson Urban Farm and Moeller Knights of Columbus.

Traffic will be detoured to Newtown Road. Please note, left turns are NOT permitted from eastbound Clough Pike to Bartels Road. 

We appreciate motorists’ patience and understanding, and planning accordingly to use alternate routes, to allow the township and its contractor, Prus Construction, to complete this emergency pipe replacement project.
