Construction Traffic Pattern to Remain in Place: Beechmont Avenue and State Route 32
Drivers, please note a construction-related traffic pattern change on Beechmont Avenue (SR 125) at SR 32 (Batavia Road) will now become permanent.
The heavy traffic area will now provide both SR 125 and SR 32 a dedicated, continuous flowing lane as they merge onto the Beechmont Levee, near Lunken Airport.
The roadway was scheduled to return to its previous striping configuration after construction of the Little Miami Scenic Trail extension was complete. However, thanks to the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) study of this area and consultation with local communities and law enforcement, the current pattern will remain in place. The temporary lane configuration, put in place in September 2021, has resulted in traffic flowing more smoothly and safely through the area.
ODOT recently restriped a portion of the roadway, with additional striping and signage to come. The merging of traffic on Beechmont Avenue (SR 125) will begin west of the Esltun Road intersection, which is the driveway to the former Skytop Shopping Center. This site is being redeveloped into a multi-family housing community. The right lane Beechmont Avenue will end just west of the ramp to SR 32 west. Please see photos, taken by Anderson Township, for reference.
The Little Miami Scenic Trail connection in this area is scheduled to open Wednesday, Sept. 21 after a 10:30 a.m. ribbon cutting event.
