Key Missing Link in Little Miami Scenic Trail Opens Sept. 21

For several decades, Anderson Township, Great Parks of Hamilton County, the City of Cincinnati and so many others have worked, piece by piece, to connect the Little Miami Scenic Trail from Milford to Lunken Airport.

This vision becomes reality at a ribbon cutting ceremony set for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 21. When the ribbon is cut the “missing link” in this trail network opens for public use.

This last segment was not easy!  The project included the expansion of the Beechmont Avenue bridge to create a new protected lane for riders and walkers. It also included a tunnel under the westbound State Road 32 ramp to Beechmont, and a retaining wall under Beechmont Avenue.

With this link, the trail connects our community to not only the regional trail system, but to a corridor extending more than 80 miles north as part to the Ohio River to Lake Erie trail system. Nearly 3 miles of the Little Miami Scenic Trail are located in Anderson Township.

Anderson Township thank so many who have worked to create this amenity for our community to enjoy for generations to come. We will continue efforts to further connect our neighborhoods to this amazing trail, which Outside Magazine recently identified as one of 10 best rail trails in the United States!
