20+ Years of Walk to School Days

Each fall and spring, Anderson Township has worked with the Forest Hills Local School District to coordinate Walk to School Day events. Days such as this help raise awareness of safety precautions for students, families, and motorists. 

Creating safe routes to schools has been an ongoing priority for Anderson Township for many years. Ongoing infrastructure improvements near all schools have made it safer for children to walk or bike to school and for drivers to navigate school zone areas safely. What’s been completed? Crosswalks, school zone signage, traffic calming, and other strategies now support the township’s nine schools. Additionally, through township efforts, students and adults are learning more traffic safety skills.
