Holiday Recycling Made Simple

As the volume of waste increases by up to 25% during the holidays, reduce trash going into landfills by recycling wrapping paper, cardboard, packaging materials, and more.

Many everyday holiday items can be recycled, including:

·       Paper wrapping paper (no foil, glitter or plastic)

·       Envelopes (with and without windows)

·       Greeting cards (paper only)— cards with sound, photo paper or cards with non-paper accessories aren’t accepted

·       Catalogs and magazines

·       Paper Amazon mailers

·       Boxes

Another tip: Add recycling to holiday parties.

When hosting, have convenient disposal options by placing a designated recycling container next to the trash can. Some holiday party recyclables to consider:

·       Plastic bottles, jugs, tubs, and cups

·       Metal cans (aluminum, steel, tin)

·       Glass bottles and jars (any color)

·       Dry food paper boxes

·       Pizza boxes

·       Broth, juice and milk cartons

·       Paper grocery bags

Christmas trees and holiday greenery can be dropped off for free at Bzak Landscaping, 3295 Turpin Lane. Visit: www.Bzak.com.

Used Christmas lights can be recycled at Woodland Mound Park or any Lowe’s or Home Depot store.
