Remembering President Jimmy Carter

President Jimmy Carter, the man from the small town of Plains, Georgia who became the 39^th president, is remembered today for his long life of service. He was born in 1924 and died December 29, 2024.

Known internationally as a “man of peace,” Carter served one term as president from 1977 to 1981. Accomplishments during his presidency included the Panama Canal Treaty and the Camp David Accords. He was also a champion of human rights worldwide and a prolific author.
