Remembering President Jimmy Carter
President Jimmy Carter, the man from the small town of Plains, Georgia who became the 39th president, is remembered today for his long life of service. He was born in 1924 and died December 29, 2024.
Known internationally as a “man of peace,” Carter served one term as president from 1977 to 1981. Accomplishments during his presidency included the Panama Canal Treaty and the Camp David Accords. He was also a champion of human rights worldwide and a prolific author.
