New Stoplight Now Online at Five Mile Road and Towne Center Way Intersection

Five Mile Road motorists please take note: a new stoplight at the corner of Five Mile Road and Towne Center Way is now operational.

The stoplight is initially in “flash” mode, with a yellow caution light for Five Mile Road traffic and red stop light for motorists exiting Towne Center Way.  On Tuesday, May 27, it will begin full operations.

The new stoplight was installed to enhance the safety of truck and freight deliveries at the Anderson Towne Center and for METRO buses that frequently pass through this location. The signal will serve the Anderson Towne Center, Anderson Center, and 224 new households at the Vantage at Anderson Towne Center apartment community.  It also will help manage traffic related to the soon to be opened redeveloped Anderson Center Station Park & Ride, to be located on the bottom level of the Vantage development.

Please use caution with this traffic pattern change. The Hamilton County Engineer’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Anderson Township will be working to coordinate this signal timing with the nearby Anderson Towne Center and Five Mile Road traffic signals, which may take several weeks to program.

The $350,000 project was mainly paid for through SORTA’s Transit Infrastructure Fund grant program.  Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds reserved for capital improvements will contribute to Anderson Township’s stoplight project.
