Church Street CLOSURE at Railroad Crossing in Newtown

The Village of Newtown has announced that beginning this Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 7:30am, Church Street will closed between Center Street and School Street, to allow for the emergency repair of the railroad crossing.  Church Street is projected to reopen at 3pm on Friday, July 18, 2025.

The posted detour will be SR 32/Main Street, to Roundbottom Road, to Valley Avenue and vice versa.  Please plan accordingly and seek alternative routes due to anticipated roadway congestion on the alternate route.
