Recycle Prescription Pill Bottles at Sheriff’s Office

Anderson residents now have a convenient option to recycle unused prescription pill bottles.

A prescription pill bottle recycling station has been installed inside the lobby of the Anderson Township District 5 substation of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, 7954 Beechmont Ave. The free service is a project of Anderson’s recycling subcommittee of the Anderson Plan Implementation Committee.

Bottles will be sanitized at the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub before reuse by Matthew 25 Ministries and Cincinnati Animal Care.

Pill bottles must be empty, clean and dry. Only orange, green and blue prescription bottles are accepted. Removing the prescription label is optional.

The substation at 7954 Beechmont Ave. also accepts unneeded prescription drugs in a secure drop box. Hours for the lobby are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
