Native Plant Event Returns Sunday, May 17, 2026

Join your neighbors and friends at this year’s kickoff of the second year of the Native Plant Initiative sponsored by Anderson Township. This year’s kickoff will feature a panel of experts on using native plants in your garden. Panelists will include: a horticulturist from local business sponsor Native Roots, the Anderson Township Greenspace Inspector, and an Anderson resident and gardener from Horizon Church’s native plant garden project. Bring your questions!

The event is set for Sunday, May 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Anderson Heritage Center and Arboretum, 890 Eight Mile Road. A speaker panel will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Enjoy refreshments and giveaways during this free event, which recognizes Bluestar (Amsonia), the 2026 Anderson Township Native Plant of the Year.
