Natural Gas Aggregation Program Approved; Program Begins in July

Anderson Township Trustees have contracted to participate in a natural gas aggregation program.

At their regular April trustee meeting, the board approved a contract with Direct Energy Services as the natural gas provider for the new aggregation program with a fixed retail price for the Gas Supplier Energy Charge at $0.5399/CCF. The 12-month term begins with the July 2026 meter read. Opt-out notices are tentatively scheduled to be mailed to eligible customers in mid-late May. There is no fee to opt-out.

Now that Duke Energy is operating under a new billing structure for natural gas by replacing the Gas Cost Recovery (GCR) charge with the Standard Service Offer (SSO) plus a fixed Retail Price Adjustment (RPA), the fixed rate can provide savings for participants.
