Meet A Greenspace Hike - July 22, 2026

Join Green Umbrella’s Greenspace Alliance and Anderson Township Staff for a Meet A Greenspace Hike Exploring the Forestlake Drive to Eight Mile Road Greenway.

Enjoy nature and learn more about Anderson’s Greenspace and open space during a guided hike through the Greenway. This community hike gives Anderson residents a chance to share their thoughts about Greenway and connect with Township and Green Umbrella representatives! Following the hike, Green Umbrella will host a GREEN DRINKS event at Wandering Monsters Brewing.  

The hike is planned for 3:00 – 4:30 pm, Wednesday, July 22nd.  Please register on Green Umbrella's website HERE.  

We will meet at the northern end of Forestlake Drive in Anderson Township. Please only park on the west side of Forestlake Drive and avoid parking in the cul-de-sac.

The hike will be a moderate to strenuous out-and-back 1.6-mile hike. There are no steep sections except for a stream crossing with a high bank. About 1,000 feet of the hike will be in a creek bed with up to 8 inches of water, depending on weather conditions*. Please dress appropriately, bring water, and snacks (if you need them).

*Please note that much of this hike is a creek walk with slippery rocks and flowing water. Appropriate footwear is recommended, and trekking poles may be beneficial for balance. Please consider the risks of this type of terrain when deciding whether to participate.
