Remembering Hamilton County Sheriff’s District 5 Clerk Ellie Backscheider.

Anderson Township is deeply saddened by the passing of Ellie Backscheider on October 6, 2026.  Ellie was the Assistant to the District Commander at District 5 of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office for over 15 years.

We were so fortunate to enjoy Elle’s smile, laugh, friendship and personality.

She was the front line for our residents and businesses contacting District 5, and was a tremendous resource, and so much more, to the officers who served Anderson Township during her time with Anderson.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
