Preparing for Rain … and More Snow

With a Flood Watch in effect this evening into Wednesday afternoon, Anderson’s Public Works crews continue to clear storm inlets blocked by snow banks from recent winter storms. This is a part of routine maintenance conducted by the township. However, with several thousand inlets, we cannot possibly clear snow from every location in a timely manner.

We need your help by removing snow from inlets near your property. This allows our Public Works crew to focus on areas where melting heavy snowfall may worsen the flooding situation.

If you notice ponding or flooding on streets due to a blocked inlet during rainfall, and are physically unable to remove the snow yourself, contact Anderson Township at 688-8400, or via email at info@andersontownship.org

The second part of this storm includes projections for possibly heavy snowfall later Wednesday into Thursday. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Public Works crews will shift back into snow mode, and we again ask residents to remove vehicles from township roadways. This aids efforts to remove snow from the street and open up storm drains, before very cold temperatures return Thursday night.

We appreciate your patience, help and understanding!
