Kickoff at 10:00 for Anderson Independence Day Parade

Anderson Township’s annual Independence Day Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, beginning at the Beechmont fire station, 7954 Beechmont Ave. and traveling down Beechmont to the Anderson Towne Center.  Now in its 11th year, the parade continues to unite the community in a morning of spirited fun in the yearly trek down Beechmont Avenue. This year the parade will include approximately 90 entrants from neighborhood groups to community organizations.
Immediately after the parade, the Anderson Towne Center becomes a center of family-oriented activity, with Robin Lacy and DeZydeco providing a little New Orleans style “gumbo music” for enjoyment. Tour the cruise-in car show, enjoy kids’ games and inflatables, food and demonstrations from student groups.
For more information, visit the official parade site at AndersonParade.com or AndersonTownship.org, or call 688-8400 during regular business hours.
