A Good News Update for Beechmont & Five Mile Drivers
Good news for Anderson drivers! Much of the construction on
the Continuous Flow Intersection, which has impacted traffic flow since early
summer, will be wrapped up by December.
The intersection project at Beechmont Avenue and Five Mile
Road will be mostly complete by Thanksgiving. However, finishing work to
construct a right turn lane from Beechmont to Five Mile at the IHOP corner
continues a few weeks longer.
The Ohio Department of Transportation and the Hamilton
County Engineer’s Office have indicated the new traffic pattern on the busy
Continuous Flow Intersection probably won’t go live until early spring when the
weather breaks. The existing signal system will remain in place for the next
couple of months.
So, here’s the bottom line. After paving work that is
expected to occur this week, drivers will be relieved that construction-related
holiday traffic snarls will likely be kept to a minimum until spring. A brief
construction cycle will provide final paving and pavement markings in the
spring.
