Construction Begins on Towne Center Way

Road work has begun on the final section of the ring road around the Anderson Towne Center, called Towne Center Way, with the total reconstruction project targeted for completion late this year.

The project is being financed by a $1.4 million loan from the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). The southern portion of the road was upgraded by Kroger in 2016.

The project will provide significant impacts to this portion of the roadway including:

  • Storm water system upgrades including roadway leveling
  • Improved turning space at key intersections
  • Addition of a sidewalk to connect Wolfangel Road to the Five Mile Trail
  • New pedestrian and roadway lighting

A one-way traffic pattern, towards the south/east, will be in place for much of the construction period, between Five Mile Road and the Kroger Loading Dock Area / ATC rear parking (near Crunch Fitness).  Two way traffic remains in place from the Kroger Loading Dock Area / ATC rear parking (near Crunch Fitness and Wolfangel Road, including Crotty Court / Plazaview Court / Oakhollow Court.

There will be detours and road closures later during the construction process, so please check back for future update.

"Improvements to Towne Center Way will help establish this roadway as a ‘front door’ to the Towne Center and Anderson Center,” said Trustee President Josh Gerth. “The upgrades also provide key vehicular and pedestrian connections to improve traffic flow and safety in this area.”
