Community Service Project: Paint a Township Fire Hydrant

Looking for a unique service project, or a neighborhood beautification effort? Help maintain the township’s 2,700 + fire hydrants by providing them with a fresh coat of paint.

Your efforts help firefighters do their job. Painting the hydrants helps increase visibility for firefighters who may need to access the hydrants during an emergency.

Anderson Township Fire and Rescue will provide volunteers with paint, a brush and instructions. Call the Newtown Fire Station (Station 22) at 688-8093 and talk to the station officer. Volunteers can request to paint hydrants in their own neighborhood or in other parts of the community.
