Ayers Road Reconstruction

Several years ago, soon after the Township accepted maintenance of Ayers Road, from Asbury Road east into Riverview Estates, staff began discussions about improvement to this roadway, namely to widen the travel lanes and create a paved and unpaved shoulder.  It was formerly a farm road, which over time, provided access to numerous homes and was accepted as a Hamilton County maintained road before being conveyed to the Township.

In 2019, the Township hired Fishbeck Engineering, who began design work to improve the roadway.  While the engineering for this paused several times over the years to coordinate and adjust to new developments in the area, after considerable discussion and planning, a decision has been made to proceed with construction in 2023. Bids will soon be sought for construction of these improvements, estimated at $1.1 Million, and this will be paid for by Anderson Township.

The current plans may be found by clicking below.  While the full construction details and timing won’t be known until late winter, we do know that to rebuild the roadway, a temporary traffic signal will be in place since only one lane of traffic will be permitted on a portion of Ayers.  While that construction area and one lane area may be no longer than 800’ in length at any time, this signal and the methods necessary to complete work, will have impacts on access to your property and others on Ayers Road.  Please note that provisions are being made to ensure access for emergency vehicles will not be hindered.

We appreciate the patience of motorists and residents as we advance this much needed safety improvement for the area, one that will result in significantly improved access to existing and planned residences.  Please contact Steve Sievers at 513-688-8604 or ssievers@AndersonTownshipOH.gov, with any questions or comments.
