Township Seeks Volunteer Park Commissioner

The Board of Trustees of Anderson Township encourages letters of interest from Township residents who would like to serve as a volunteer commissioner for the Anderson Park District. This search is to fill an open commissioner position, the term of which expires in 2025.  Applicants must be willing to dedicate the time and energy the position requires in light of the ongoing development of park facilities.  The five-member Park Board meets monthly in the evenings and at special interim meetings.  Commissioners need to be accessible in between meetings for consultations with the Park District professional staff. 

Applicants should include a resume or outline of their professional qualifications which would relate to serving on volunteer boards and/or parks and recreation management.  Any evidence that would demonstrate an ability to fairly balance the needs and demands of diverse interests or user groups would be helpful.  General familiarity with Anderson Township and its overall growth and development should be cited as should current and past community service activities.
