Funding Available for Lead Mitigation

Do you live in an older house or apartment that may have lead-based paint? If so, free help is available through Hamilton County Public Health to create a safer living environment for you and your family.

Lead is a highly toxic substance that can cause many health problems, especially in young children. Exposure comes through paint and dust in older houses and apartments. Lead poisoning can cause serious problems including behavior issues, learning disabilities and seizures and other medical issues.

Hamilton County Public Health’s Lead Hazard Reduction Program targets middle to low-income families with children under six living in or visiting the home to eliminate lead hazards through essential home repairs.

Applications are available at HamiltonCountyHealth.org/services/lead. Contact People Working Cooperatively at cinlead@pwchomerepairs.org or call 513-366-4697 with any questions about the application process. A short video gives further information:  youtube.com/shorts/qbt_DwAUp4c.
