UPDATED DATE - One-Way Newtown Road Closure Starts September 8th

UPDATE!  Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, southbound Newtown Road will be closed between Mercers Point Drive and the junction with Clough Pike for up to 60 days. (NOTE, this date is being shifted from the previously announced Aug. 24 estimated closure).

A detour will be provided by way of Clough Pike and Bartels Road.  Newtown Road heading northbound, or up the hill turning off Clough Pike, will remain open.

The road work is part of the Clough Pike and Newtown Road intersection improvement project which includes the addition of left turn lanes on Clough and Newtown Road, as well as a sidewalk on the south side of Clough Pike, between Copperleaf Lane and Newtown Road. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
