Be Ready to Face an Emergency!

Are you ready to face a local or national disaster? September is National Preparedness Month, so use this month to plan for when Mother Nature throws you a curveball.

Of course, family and community disaster planning is important not just now, but all year long. You may have discovered holes in your emergency plans during COVID-19.  So, resolve to be ready to protect yourself and your loved ones by learning more from these tips:

* Sign up for national alerts and warnings. Download the FEMA app to get real-time alerts and safety tips.

* Sign up for local alerts and warnings through AlertHC.org.

* Make an emergency plan: choose a safe place to meet, learn evacuation routes, and establish an out-of-town contact.

* Snap photos of important documents and save them in a secure place or online.
