Senior Center November 5 Open House: Learn About Activities, Aging Well
Whether you’re trying a new hobby or returning to a familiar one, meeting with old friends or making new, or starting or maintaining a fitness program, the Anderson Township Senior Center offers many opportunities for learning, socializing and aging well.
Learn more about programs and events at an open house at the Anderson Township Senior Center set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 7970 Beechmont Ave. Taste lunch menu items, watch activity demonstrations, enjoy entertainment, meet the staff and tour the building during the event.
On hand will be a representative from the Meals on Wheels of Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati program which contracts with Anderson to provide daily meals and transportation services. Additionally, representatives from The Council on Aging and The Cincinnati Association for the Visually Impaired will provide information tables.
The senior center offers a wide variety of programs and activities, including:
- exercise classes,
- creative expression opportunities,
- informative speakers,
- entertaining musicians,
- trips to restaurants and attractions,
- health screenings,
- companionship and nutritious meals.
“Many social and learning opportunities are scheduled each week, all of which can help improve mental health and keep one’s mind sharp,” said Claire O’Connell, activities manager. “We look forward to meeting new seniors in the area,” she said. “You are never too old to try new things and to start taking care of yourself.”
