Towne Center Way Reopens
As the “2016 Year of Road Construction” in the center of Anderson Township winds down, we are pleased to report the Hamilton County Engineer’s Office has reopened Towne Center Way in its new alignment connecting to Wolfangel Road.
Towne Center Way was modified to allow for the construction of Kroger’s addition, and now links to what was formerly Bowen Road, west of Wolfangel Road. It’s important to note that work is not complete, and there will be additional construction along this segment of the roadway through the winter and continuing into spring. This will allow for the completion of the sidewalk, fencing, additional paving, etc.
This segment of Bowen is being renamed Towne Center Way. It now connects Five Mile and Wolfangel Road. With this final upgrade much of the construction work on Wolfangel, from Bowen to Beechmont is winding down. Improvements included a widened roadway with turn lanes and new traffic signal at the Towne Center Way and Wolfangel intersection. A new right turn lane from Beechmont into Kroger/Anderson Towne Center also is complete.
As we head through winter, sidewalks on the east side of Wolfangel and a bus pull off in this area will be completed, along with missing segments on this portion of Towne Center Way. Additional Towne Center Way improvements are scheduled for next summer around the Anderson Towne Center and Anderson Center Station. Construction work in that area may at times limit the roadway to one lane of traffic.
Please note, there remains no direct access between Wolfangel Road and Kroger, though an indirect connection can be made through Towne Center Way and the Anderson Towne Center. The direct connection will remain closed for much of early 2017 as Kroger begins construction on their new building addition and the adjoining Shoppes of Anderson Towne Center development later this winter.
Thanks for your patience as we have helped to lay the foundation, or pavement, for the future of Anderson Township, and as construction continues, please use caution when traversing Towne Center Way.
