Updated Draft Plan Details Future Trails Expansion

With a long-term strategy to create a more walkable community, the Anderson Trails Plan outlines new pathways for construction each year.

The Anderson Trails Plan recently was updated, as it is every five years. In the recent draft update, more links again have been suggested for future construction. Since Anderson adopted its Anderson Trails Plan in 1999, more than 22 miles of trails have been added to the community.

In a change from past trail updates, this year’s update also contains a wide variety of expanded pedestrian and bicycle enhancements, such crosswalk improvements and roadway striping to enhance safety.

Anderson Township is soliciting resident comment regarding the draft plan. You can share your thoughts via email or attend a public open house that will share information about the proposal.

The public open house to review the draft plan and provide comments will be hosted from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Road. The updated plan also may be reviewed by clicking on the file below, and comments will be accepted from May 10-28.
